Lydia Durst was elected to serve as the County Recorder in the General Election last year, giving her the opportunity to continue the progress she has made in her position since being appointed in 2023.
Recorder Durst’s goals for this term include accurate maintenance of the voter registration rolls, improving the voting experience for all registered and eligible voters in our County, providing accurate, searchable public records and encouraging citizens to take advantage of the services we offer!
The Recording Division makes great strides within the county and continues its endeavor to assist all residents with the recording of property related documents. Residents can view recorded documents and request copies through the online self-service portal, accessible via this link: https://www.mohave.gov/departments/recorder/recording/.
Our Recorded Document Alert system has now been available for one full year! This is a software that allows members of the public to register for email alerts when a document containing their name or property information has been recorded in our office. This software launched in February of 2024 and since then has reached over 600 accounts! Historical Indexing is an important way that the Recorder’s Office provides yet another way for citizens to access important property related information. While each year of indexing can take upwards of a year for staff to complete, the end result proves beneficial to both the Recorder’s team and citizens.
As of now, the office plans on continuing this effort until documents have been indexed all the way back to 1972, making these documents available for viewing online.

Voter Registration:
During off-election years, this division of the Recorder’s Office focuses on voter roll cleanup.
After the 2024 General Election, Federal Law allowed our office to remove 5,378 voters with inactive addresses from our rolls. This puts our registered voter count at 168,647 across the County.
Our office is gearing up to mail voter registration confirmation notices to all active registered voters in May of this year, so be sure to keep an eye on the mail for a postcard with your name on it! When you receive this, verify that the information listed on the notice contains accurate information. If your information needs to be updated, you can do this online by visiting AZMVDnow.gov or contacting our office for a paper form.
State Law now requires our office to notify all voters when a change is made to their record. Sign up for these text or email alerts by visiting My.Arizona.Vote today!
In September of 2024, an issue related to citizenship tracking through the Motor Vehicle Division when registering to vote prior to 2005 was brought to our attention. In Mohave County, there were approximately 4,500 voters affected by this oversight. Our office will be working diligently to assist these voters in supplying citizenship to our office in order to cure their voter record. These voters can expect to receive a notice in the mail requesting that this documentation be provided.
