Walsh hired, Reed fired

Tim Walsh

KINGMAN – A hiring and a firing top personnel news from Kingman City Hall. Execution of contract makes official the hiring of Tim Walsh as City Manager.

Walsh is leaving his Development Services Director’s post with Mohave County to start his new job with the city on April 22. Walsh will begin with an annual salary of $185,000, plus a $600 monthly vehicle allowance.

The Kingman Police Department’s Dec. 2023 termination of the employment of Danny Reed has been upheld. Reed appealed his dismissal on Feb. 26 and the hearing officer found in favor of the termination on March 6.

Human Resources Director Krista Toschlog said Deputy City Manager Tina Moline has adopted the hearing officer recommendation and Reed’s termination stands. Neither Reed nor the city elaborated on the firing, given the confidentiality that frequently accompanies personnel matters.
