Vote for women’s rights: Vote for Ruben Gallego

Dear Editor,

Kari Lake likes to say that she is the only woman in the race for U.S. Senate in Arizona who has given birth, experienced pregnancy, and experienced the joy of motherhood.

That’s why it was so shocking to me to see Kari Lake say how happy she was when Roe vs. Wade was overturned two years ago this week.

Remember that day? I know I will never forget it. It was a day that we never thought would come — a day when our rights were stripped away from us. And on that day, Kari Lake said “nothing can wipe the smile off my face today, I’m just so happy.”

Then, the Arizona Supreme Court took the nightmare a step further by bringing back the 1864 ban — a law from before Arizona was a state and before women could vote.

Kari Lake calls it a “great” law. She called it out by statute number, and complained when Democrats stopped it from being enforced.

This is the reality we are facing here in Arizona — an extreme and dangerous ban. Only one person can stop it from being our national reality. That person is Ruben Gallego.

Ruben Gallego will vote to protect your abortion rights at the federal level. He has my vote come November and for the sake of our country, I hope he has yours too.
