Vote for truth and integrity

Dear Editor,

I agree with Mr. Jack Hommell, “Get out and Vote” in the June 16 edition. Our democracy and America depend upon it! We have to send a strong  message to Washington, D.C. and conservative states which want to suppress voters’ ability to cat ballots, (under the guise of making voting more secure. Never mind there is no evidence of voter fraud to begin with and none to indicate Trump won). We know lies when they arise, so remove politicians who indulge the lies from office by voting for a worthy opponent. Remember, even judges appointed by Trump have tossed his appeals out of the court for lack of evidence.

Now we are subjected to more lies from those on the right, along with attempts to rewrite history saying Trump will be in office in August, or the current fabrication they now would like us to believe, that the insurrection was not what we saw with our own eyes. There was no violence; it was a bunch of patriots there to enjoy a tour of the Capitol as Rep. Andrew Clyde of Georgia stated. Never mind the fact he was caught on camera assisting in blockading the door to the House chamber, while the crowd brought a noose and could be heard yelling, “Kill Mike Pence.” Even Arizona’s own Paul Gosar insists Trump won. We need to vote for people who believe the truth over lies.

I believe politicians and conservative radio hosts think Americans are stupid. So stupid none will remember the taped conversation Trump had with Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, begging him to find just 11,780 more Trump votes because as Trump said, “We won! I could not have lost in the Peach State, find 11,000 more votes, give me a break.” If he won, why look for more votes? Vote for truth, sanity and integrity.

Senator Liz Cheney has the courage to call Trump out on his lies. Senate republicans then decide to remove her from committee because fidelity to Trump gets them elected over allegiance to the truth, brilliant. Get out and vote to remove those loyal to Trump. Vote for those who took the oat of loyalty to the U.S. Constitution.

It is refreshing to have a president today who will stand up to Putin rather than indicating more trust in the Russian despot than his own intelligence agencies. So all you “disloyals,” please get out and vote for truth and maintain our fragile democracy.
