VFW evacuated during vehicle fire

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Sunday fire prompted the precautionary evacuation of the VFW Hall and nearby businesses in Lake Havasu City. Fire department personnel responded at 3:20 p.m. to the incident in the 200 block of London Bridge Road.

City Manager Jess Knudson said, in a news release, that the fire apparently started in the interior of a vehicle outside the buildings. Flames spread to another vehicle and were threatening the structures, so the buildings were cleared.

Crews quickly extinguished the fire and no injuries were reported.
