Veterans Day Parade and Street of Lights Display still on for this year

KINGMAN – The Kingman Downtown Merchants Association (KDMA) is proud to announce that both the Veterans Day Parade and The Very Merry Christmas Street of Lights Display for the Kingman area are scheduled for later this year!

KDMA invites everyone to consider entering their business, club, organization, or themselves into the fun! Entries can be many things, but floats are always admired. The parades are a great way to get your business name out there with high visibility to the community.

The Veterans Day Parade will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13 beginning at 10 a.m. The parade will honor all veterans, with this year bringing special attention to The United States Coast Guard. The parade route will travel from Fifth and Beale St. to First and Beale St.

Registration for any Veteran group, association, or individual is free! Non-military registration costs $25.

KDMA is also seeking Sponsors for the Veterans Day Parade, so for more information, please contact Joni Millin, Chairperson for the KDMA Parade Committee, by calling (928) 279-8448 or emailing kingmandowntownmerchantsassoc@gmail.com. Details can also be found at www.kingmandowntownmerchantsassociation.com.

The Very Merry Christmas Street of Lights Display will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4. This parade will feature dozens of beautifully decorated floats and vehicles along Beale St. from Fifth St. through Grandview. The driving lane will run from 6-9 p.m. and walking paths will open at 5 p.m. This year’s theme will be “Christmas Miracles on Beale Street.”

The Display will also feature other attractions, including Mr. and Mrs. Claus’ Castle Sleigh, a Mingle Jingle Christmas Bazaar, and a Merchant Window Contest with a $500.00 prize for first place and a $250.00 prize for second place!

Parade registration is $50, and vendor spaces for the Mingle Jingle Christmas Bazaar are available.

For entry applications and category information, please visit www.kingmandowntownmerchantsassociation.com and register before Monday, Nov. 22. For general inquiries, please email kingmandowntownmerchantsassoc@gmail.com or call (928) 279-8448.

Online registration for both events is now open at kingmandowntownmerchantsassociation.com and paper entry forms are available at the following local locations: Kingman Powerhouse, Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce, the Mohave County Library, and The Standard Newspaper.
