VA needs help for vets

Dear Editor,

The Prescott Veterans Administration needs our help to give needed items to their patients. All must be new, unused items. This list includes the Homeless Veterans Program. If anyone can give cash, the Kingman Elks Lodge #468 at 900 Gates Ave., will have a collection box for cash in the social quarters.

The items can be held in the meeting room for Nani Chrimes to pick up to send to Prescott. The Elks office is open Monday through Thursday from 11:30 am. To 3 p.m. for collection items through Nov. 1. Then they have to be packaged up and sent to the VA. The Prescott VA must receive the items and donation by Nov. 11. Please help our veterans in need. Items needed are:

Socks, T-shirts, jeans, underwear, short sleeve shirts, athletic shoes, hats and belts, light rain jackets, business clothing for interviews, collared shirts, game books, umbrellas, black slip resistant shoes;

New or used softball gloves, acoustic guitars, fishing reels, gift cards for groceries, Harkins Theater gift cards, I-Tunes gift cards, backpacks, craft and model kits;

Food vouchers, disposable razors, deodorant, shaving cream, combs, brushes, postal stamps, pencils and pens, body wash, healthy packaged snacks, bottled water;

Rain ponchos, flashlights, tents, personal size laundry detergent, plastic accordion files, pocket calendars, wheelchairs, blankets, picnic tables and benches.
