‘Upscale’ manufactured housing project planned

FT. MOHAVE – Plan amendments and rezoning required for an “affordable-yet upscale” manufactured housing subdivision in Fort Mohave are supported by the Mohave County Board of Supervisors. Approvals during the Board’s April 5 meeting included stipulations that the developer, Gaia Signature Group LLC, fund any Camp Mohave access road paving necessary for the 90-acre Via Dolce project.

Other conditions are that a Homeowner’s Association be utilized and that sight-obscuring fencing be used to enclose a storage area for boats, personal watercraft, trailers, RV’s, sand rails and other toys that will be accessed by nicely-landscaped entrances.

“The open lot storage project will consist of approximately 3.7-acres which will have a block wall surrounding it because it’s going to be in the middle of the development and we want it to look nice,” Mark Clark, applicant agent and project manager told supervisors. He said the development that targets a les expensive housing market niche will feature other amenities as well.

“It will have 3 clubhouses with 3 pools for the different areas of the project,” Clark said. He said plans are still under development but that 500-to-520 units are envisioned in a 10-year plus buildout.

Clark said development will occur in five phases, first on the northern parcels and last to the south. He said initial construction is expected early next year.
