Two charged in year-old homicide case

KINGMAN – Two Kingman men have been arrested for a near year-old homicide. Benjamin Clark Dann, 24, and Alfred Martin Talavera, 33, are charged with second degree murder.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s office said Dann and Talavera had been considered suspects in an ongoing investigation of the death of Kirklin Marcus Roach, 37. The body of the Kingman man who died of blunt force trauma was found in a desert area behind the Kingman Airport on January 14, 2019.

Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said Dann was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 7 for alleged probation violations while Talavera was contacted at a residence in the 2000 block of Devlin Avenue. She said both men were charged after they were interviewed about their involvement in Roach’s death.

Mortensen said the investigation continues.
