Truck stop violence erupts

Quan Arline

LAKE HAVASU CITY – An arrest is reported in a knife slashing earlier this month at the State Route 95/Interstate 40 interchange truck stop north of Lake Havasu City. The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) said the violence occurred on Feb. 4 during an escalating verbal argument between two truck drivers.

Arriving deputies located an alert and responsive victim who was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries from a knife to his neck area, according to MCSO spokeswoman Anita Mortensen. She said the suspect who left the truck stop was identified as Quan Arline by witness accounts and analysis of video surveillance.

Mortensen phone communication was established, but that Arline, 55, Georgia, advised he was in another state and would not be returning. She said a warrant issued for his arrest and that Arline reported to the MCSO substation outside Lake Havasu to offer his version of events on Feb. 16

“At the conclusion of the interview, Arline was arrested and transported to the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility in Kingman without incident,” Mortensen said. She said he is held on an attempted second-degree murder charge and that investigation continues.
