Tristin gets time served for role in meth transport

KINGMAN – One of three women charged in a four-pound methamphetamine seizure in Bullhead City has been placed on probation with no further jail time. Dara Tristan, 47, was sentenced April 8 by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Megan McCoy.

Tristan and two co-defendants were arrested during a late-night Oct. 30, 2025 traffic stop in Bullhead City. Police department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said officers pulled over a BMW and a Chevrolet Silverado that were traveling in tandem and that the agency was acting on information that a large quantity of meth was being driven to Bullhead City from Las Vegas.

Fromelt said drugs estimated at $36,000 in value were located and confiscated during a search conducted after Lake Havasu City police K-9 Echo alerted to presence of drugs during an open-air vehicle sniff.

Tristan pleaded guilty to a charge reduced to facilitation of transportation of dangerous drugs for sale. McCoy placed Tristan on probation for three years, saying enrollment in drug counseling  programs to treat her addiction is a better outcome than any punitive punishment that would result from a short prison term.

McCoy ordered a 23-day jail sentence and credited Tristan for 23 days already spent in custody. Tristan was directed to perform 90 hours of community work service.

Charges are still pending against co-defendant Holly Haworth, 46, Fort Mohave. April Jacobs, 38, Dolan Springs, is serving 2.5 years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted transportation of dangerous drugs for sale.
