Transient charged with kidnapping

BULLHEAD CITY – A transient known to local law enforcement has been arrested for confining another woman’s child in a restroom at a public park in Bullhead City. Police Department public information officer Emily Fromelt said officers responded to Rotary Park at 3:40 p.m. on Sunday, October 5 after a mother reported her child missing.

“The child’s mother told police that her five-year-old daughter had been missing for about an hour,” Fromelt said in a news release. “Before officers arrived, the mother advised that she had located her daughter inside a park restroom.”

Fromelt said the mother advised that the suspect, Kyndilun Danielle Mayweather Sooten, 30, covered her daughter’s mouth with her hand to prevent her from calling out for help. She said Sooten told police she was attempting to help the girl find her parents.

“No injuries were reported,” Fromelt said. She said Sooten was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and kidnapping.
