Tivoli Heights collection food for pantry

Dear Editor,

Tivoli Heights Food Pantry was created in 2023 to address the ongoing nutritional deficits of our low-income residents. Many people who reside at Tivoli Heights have difficulty purchasing food, especially as food prices continue to rise and become prohibitive for struggling families. Our pantry helps to bridge the food gap for our residents and we know of many times when it meant the difference between eating and going hungry. Tivoli Heights is the only fully tax-credit affordable housing multi-family apartment complex in Kingman, and we serve 96 families, many of which are severely financially impaired and barely hanging on.

Our Community Pantry is 100% funded by personal donations, which can be sporadic and doesn’t do enough to address our community’s constant and continuing nutritional needs. With the price of food continuing to climb and no real relief in sight, our residents’ food budgets are stretched to the limit. The donation will benefit the 96 families who call Tivoli Heights Village home. These include seniors, disabled people, and families with children. The Pantry is open to Tivoli Heights residents only.

All donations go to purchasing food supplies for the Pantry. We will buy non-perishable food items as well as some fresh fruits and vegetables to help supplement our residents’ nutritional needs. Your generosity will enable us to purchase food to help keep our Pantry functioning even when food donations are low. You would be helping the vulnerable people who reside here who often can’t afford to meet their household’s nutritional requirements. We greatly appreciate this opportunity to apply for your charity program and would be grateful for any contribution you can make. Our Community Pantry is less than two years old but has already become crucial help to dozens of our residents. Thank you so much for the chance to be heard.
