LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Tin Man Charity Golf Tournament is in the game when it comes to giving back to numerous deserving charities. Nonprofit organization American Legion is dedicated to supporting veterans. The group is aiming to show their support to six charities at this yearly event.
Registration is $120 per golfer. Signups for the tournament will begin at 6:30am on Saturday, Nov. 18 followed by a shotgun start at 8 a.m. at the Lake Havasu Golf Club. At the end of the tournament, lunch will be provided at the American Legion Post#81.
Last year the tournament raised $34,000. Lake Havasu’s Parks and Recreations is one of the many groups that the tournament will give back to. Parks and Recreations provide services such as their after-school programs and youth athletics. The Lake Havasu’s Athletic Booster Club will be included for high school sports along with Future business leaders of America, a technical school student organization. The Clothes Closet is in the mix whose nonprofit charity helps people in need of free clothes, meals, and other needs.
Families in Transition will benefit as well. They are an organization that gives assistance to parents who are in the stages of divorce. Additionally, the tournament will provide support to charities that help with family emergencies such as Faith and Grace who offers shelter to women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Haven Family Resource Center will be included in the fundraiser. The center provides services for child abuse prevention, crisis counseling, parenting programs, and food for the homeless. All proceeds will go towards various charities that help families in need. This Saturday’s event will mark the 21st Annual Tin Man Charity Golf Tournament.
