KINGMAN – Thunder-Rode Motorcycle Accessories is once again a drop-off location for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to underprivileged children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. Thunder-Rode was awarded the 2021 U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Commander’s Award for its donations to the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program. The Commander’s Award is presented to acknowledge the outstanding support of those whose generous contributions have enabled the Marine Corps to bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s less fortunate children.
Thunder-Rode Motorcycle Accessories will be hosting their 6th Annual Togs 4 Tots event on December 2, from 12-4 p.m. Donors who bring a new, unwrapped toy for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program into Thunder-Rode Motorcycle Accessories will receive a sealed envelope containing a gift voucher. Gift vouchers will range in the $10 to $50 range, with a grand prize voucher of $100 up for grabs. Gift vouchers will only be provided during the event day and time listed above; however, everyone is welcome to drop off toys at any time. Previous Togs 4 Tots events at Thunder-Rode were a huge success, filling over eight Toys for Tots boxes for the children. In exchange, Thunder-Rode gave away thousands of dollars in gift vouchers.
The Toys for Tots campaign delivers a message of hope. The goal is to motivate children, through the kindness of a new Christmas gift, to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders. The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help needy children throughout the United States experience the joys of Christmas and to unite all members of local communities in a common cause during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign.
Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is an IRS recognized 501(C)(3) not-for-profit public charity and is the fund raising, funding, and support organization for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. From 1991-2018, the Foundation has provided 251 million children with 548 million toys.
The local toy collection campaign for Mohave County (North) begins November 1. Thunder-Rode Motorcycle Accessories started accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys November 1. The toys will be picked up mid-December. Toy distribution normally takes place on December 23 and 24. Members of the community can drop new, unwrapped toys in a collection box positioned at Thunder-Rode Motorcycle Accessories. Coordinators pick up the toys and they are then sorted by age and gender. At Christmas, coordinators, with the assistance of local social welfare agencies, church groups, and other local community agencies, distribute the toys to the disadvantaged children of the community.
The ultimate success of the Toys for Tots Campaign depends on the support of the local community and the generosity of the people who donate new toys. Local business leaders, such as Thunder-Rode Motorcycle Accessories, play a key role in the program. They allow coordinators to place collection boxes in their place of business and help coordinators arrange media exposure for Toys for Tots in the local community.
