LAKE HAVASU CITY – Bluegrass music enthusiasts, get ready for three days of music and outdoor festivities at this weekend’s 22nd Annual Bluegrass on the Beach Festival. This year’s show is being brought to you by Danny Stewart Productions, an entertainment company who have been promoting bluegrass festivals since 2006.
Originally created by promoters Larry and Sondra Baker, it was in 2018 that Stewart along with his wife Christa, joined the Bakers in advertising for the yearly shows. Stewart is a bluegrass musician himself and has been performing for over 45 years while traveling with his wife and bringing the music to audiences all over America.
Through attending Lake Havasu’s bluegrass festivals is when the couples became great friends, and the Stewarts began to refer to the shows as being, “One of the best festivals in all America.” The Bakers wanted to retire at marketing the concerts and felt that the Stewarts would be the ideal people to pass along advertising and organizing the bluegrass shows. Last year the Bakers officially took over at giving public recognition of the festival. This year’s show promises not to disappoint, as it is jam packed with a plethora of various well known and accomplished musicians.
Combining the roots of the bluegrass genre from Scottish, English, and Irish traditions to modern times would be the description for The Tennessee Bluegrass Band. The band will be in the lineup showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm.Traditional band US Navy Band Country Current will be at the show as well. The band has been the official musical organization of the US Navy since 1925. Providing concerts for state dinners, presidential inaugurations, and many other ceremonies, the historic group will be performing a combination of jazz, classical, country, and rock.
Additional acts for this year’s concert will include more well-known acts such as Dave Stamey, The Country Gentleman Tribute, Fast Track, and many more musicians. Come on out and enjoy the show, attendees are allowed to bring their own lawn or beach chairs and blankets for sitting on the grass. Craft vendors will be available along with food and workshops.
Audience members are also encouraged to participate with the jam sessions with musicians both on and off stage. If you have an instrument, you can also bring them to share your love of the music with the veteran musicians.
This year’s 22nd Annual Bluegrass on the Beach Festival will begin on Friday, February 28 through Sunday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Lake Havasu State Park. Don’t miss out on three days of great music, toe tapping, and family fun.
