LAKE HAVASU CITY – Break out that costume and get into the Halloween spirit for a great cause with Women’s Network Exchange Bunco Night.

The women’s exchange network (WNEA) is a nonprofit fundamental and prominent organization with career focused women in Lake Havasu.

If you’re someone striving to reach your full potential in your professional life, WNEA will support you throughout this journey.  WNEA provides a space where women can network, develop friendships, and provide a support system not only in your career, but in your daily life.

Members bring their experiences from various occupational backgrounds that help nurture fellow members to grow in their individual fields. WNEA was founded by Attorney Lilian Nestle from Washington D.C.

In 1997, Nestle moved to Lake Havasu after meeting her spouse. Nestle had aspirations to form an organization for professional women who could motivate each other in their careers. At the time, the city of Havasu was considered too small to have a chapter created.

This is why Nestle formed WNEA so that women of the group could bring charitable and educational activities to the community.   WNEA provides three to four 1,500.00 scholarships for women presently enrolled in educational programs or college.

The women have to be 18 years or older to be eligible. Their scholarship is also intended for those seeking to go back to school or improve their business skills. Each June, the group hosts a scholarship banquet where they award select winners with a check directly addressed to the school or training program of the recipient.

According to Vice President of WNEA Karol Fasetti, “We give out scholarships every year.  We award three, sometimes four women a 1,500.00 scholarship per awardee.”

Aside from the group’s support of each other’s careers and educational goals, the members of WNEA know when it’s time to have fun during their many bingo mixers and fundraisers. President of WNEA says, “We are a group of women who can relate to each other, support our business and unwind from all things business at the same time.  We have such a positive group. I am very honored to serve.”

WNEA is now gearing up for their annual Halloween themed Bunco Night. It’s a popular event amongst the members that treasurer Connie Hess maintains, “Funds are raised through the years with fundraisers like bunco, bingo, and our largest fundraiser is the Shopping Extravaganza in December.”

Bunco Night will be held on Thursday, October 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. at The London Bridge Resort. Doors will be opening at 5:30 p.m. It will be a festive fun filled night of games and a costume contest.  You can purchase tickets in advance or by visiting Pay | WNEA
