The Stars and Stripes

Dear Editor,

I keep hearing that the majority of Americans want to tear down and replace our flag “The Stars and Stripes” because it is racist. It frightens some people when it is flown on the back of a truck.

I find that very interesting. I had always thought the “Stars and Stripes” was the Union flag during the war between the States. Wasn’t the Union the side that freed the slaves? Wouldn’t that mean that it was anything except racist?

I also thought that the “Stars and Stripes” was the flag our soldiers carried in Europe when they fought in WWI to help free Europe. Guess my great uncle got mustard gassed and suffered for the rest of his life for the wrong flag.

Again, wasn’t the “Stars and Stripes” the flag our soldiers carried into battle on Omaha Beach, in the Ardan in the Battle of the Bulge, into Italy and France when they went to fight and die to free Europe from Hitler. Doesn’t sound much like a racist flag there.

My stepfather’s cousin, who weighed 200 pounds at 6/2” before WWII, said he knew he would live and finally be free when he saw our troops marching into Auswitzch concentration camp carrying the “Stars and Stripes.” He became an American citizen and he stood every time he saw our flag, even if it was only on TV. He was a Jew. He did not feel American and our flag were racist.

The American flag does not represent racism. The majority of Americans are not racist. If they were, how do you explain President Obama, Maxine Waters, Rashida Talib, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and all the other non-white members of the House, Senate, governors or mayors, etc?

Accusing all Americans of being racist and claiming the “Stars and Stripes” frightens them is a socialist/communist ploy to pit Whites against Blacks, Browns against Yellows, and tear us apart.

This country was built on diversity. Now, when it suits the socialist/communist propaganda they want to divide us into different groups to hate and fight each other so they can take over our country while we aren’t looking.

Wake up America! Our flag has always stood for freedom for all. Let’s not lose our country. Proudly fly our flag on  your home, on  your truck or anywhere else you want any time you want. Stand up for the “Stars and Stripes” as that flag has stood up for you.
