A day in the life of a panhandler

KINGMAN – He’s one of Kingman’s more recognizable panhandling regulars. A man named “Dave” frequently works the corner of Airway Avenue and Stockton Hill Road, catching some shade cast by pine trees just west of the fuel island at Smith’s.

So, if Dave has multiple hours to beg, several days a week, why would he not work instead?

Mohave County Fair was a hit with young and old alike

KINGMAN – People from all over the county unite for the annual Mohave County Fair, a four-day-long event, throng with lights and thrilling rides for all ages. Mohave County citizens travel from hours away to visit the Mohave County Fairgrounds in Kingman from Thursday, September 12 to Sunday, September 15. Booths from organizations and businesses throughout the county were scattered outside and inside the center, and murals of artwork from Mohave County artists were hung on the center’s walls.

Pioneer Country Gun & Knife Show

KINGMAN – Pioneer Country Gun & Knife Show will host their annual Gun & Knife, Coins & Collectibles Show at College Park Community Center, 1990 Jagerson Ave. The event will be held Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28 and 29. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. The event is open to the public. Admission is $7 per day or $12 for both days.
