Mohave Electric to hold Annual & District Meetings

BULLHEAD CITY – Mohave Electric Cooperative (MEC) announced the dates of their Annual and District Meetings. These MEC members-only meetings will be held the week of September 16, 2024. MEC annually holds district meetings for board elections, and a large annual meeting to inform members of the co-op’s yearly activities. MEC members can mark their calendars for the following dates:

Bighorn fans pack Firebird Field for first home win of inaugural season

MOHAVE COUNTY – It was a packed house as Mohave Community College Men’s and Women’s Soccer took to Firebird Field in Bullhead City for the first-ever home games of the inaugural season on Friday, Aug. 30. Athletic Director and Men’s Head Coach Camilo Valencia says the electric atmosphere provided by the crowd Friday night helped to motivate his squad to a 5-0 victory over Colorado Northwestern Community College.

Ft. Mohave man killed in traffic crash

BULLHEAD CITY– A Sept. 1 single vehicle traffic fatality remains under investigation in Bullhead City. Police don’t know why the Chevrolet Equinox left the Bullhead Parkway near Camino Real Boulevard at about 1:15 p.m.

Bullhead City Police Department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said George Hendrickson, 75, Fort Mohave, was dead at the scene. She said the vehicle traveled down a dirt embankment before striking a guardrail.

Cause of brush fire remains under investigation

BULLHEAD CITY/LAUGHLIN – The Clark County Fire Department held a unified command with the Bureau of Land Management and the National Park Service on the 63-acre fire along the Colorado River between Laughlin and Bullhead City that occurred last week.  The large brush fire created smoke that could be seen for miles but  did not threaten structures. This fire was finally brought under control with the assistance of helicopter drops from nearby Arizona BLM aviation resources.
