Kingman Library expansion has begun with groundbreaking ceremony

KINGMAN – The Mohave County Library – Kingman is being renovated and expanded to continue to provide access to knowledge, entertainment and other opportunities for area residents. More than 50 people attended a Monday morning, Nov. 25, groundbreaking for the $4.3-million project at the library located at 3269 North Burbank Street. Library Director Kathy Pennell said the community has outgrown the facility that opened in 1991, before computers and the internet altered the library landscape. “Those advances greatly changed how libraries operate and they also have changed what our users expect from libraries,” Pennell said.
