MOHAVE COUNTY – Readers of all ages are invited to participate in Mohave County Library District’s 2024 Summer Reading Program with this year’s theme, “Adventure Begins at Your Library.” The 2024 Summer Reading Program runs from May 30 to July 13.
Each branch will host an “all-ages” family event — “Funny Magic for Kids” featuring Matt Lemm, a children’s entertainer, magician, and comedian based out of Phoenix. Join in for a fun and free event, filled with stories, magic and laughter.
Summer Reading kick-off events will be held at the three main branch locations on the following dates and times:
Kingman Branch: Thursday, May 30 at 10 a.m. in the Community Room
Bullhead City Branch: Thursday, May 30 at 3:00 p.m. in Community Room A/B
Lake Havasu City Branch: Friday, May 31 at 10 a.m. in Community Room A/B
Held annually, the Summer Reading Program is open to all ages and is designed to support literacy and strengthen reading skills outside of traditional school schedules. Participants can earn points and prizes by logging reading minutes, completing online challenges, and attending library hosted events. Free “Adventure” themed activities and educational programs for babies, toddlers, children, teens, and adults are planned and can include family story times, art and craft projects, group games, escape rooms, STEM programs, and much more.
The 2024 Summer Reading program concludes on Saturday, July 13. Each library branch location will host its own all-ages Wrap-Up event during the final week of Summer Reading with free activities and prize raffles for program participants.
