Stay connected—For payment plans, call MEC today

BULLHEAD CITY – Mohave Electric Cooperative is extending its temporary moratorium on residential disconnects through May 22.

Members who have contacted MEC’s member services and have a payment plan, should continue with that plan to avoid being disconnected. Members who are unable to pay their electric bill due to the COVID situation are urged to contact MEC today to enroll in a payment plan before disconnects resume.

“The state of Arizona and businesses have already begun to reopen. We wanted to give members some extra time to contact us if they are having difficulty paying their electric bill,” said Tyler Carlson, MEC’s CEO.

“We know these are difficult times, but it’s important that members call us and make a payment plan to stay connected,” said Carlson.

MEC voluntarily began the temporary moratorium on residential disconnects in response to the state’s stay-at-home order and to help members facing financial hardship during the COVID-19 situation. MEC understands that members may need this extra time to transition before disconnects are scheduled.

Member service representatives can be reached at (928) 763-1100, Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MEC will continue practicing recommended precautions at its office to limit the spread of the virus and requests members also help keep our community healthy by staying home when sick, social distancing actions, and washing hands frequently.
