Spend September with the LHC Chamber

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Come on board with Lake Havasu’s Chamber of Commerce this September!

The AM Exchange gives businesses a chance to educate other businesses on the benefits of their brands.  This is a networking meeting that lasts less than one hour so that employees can resume their normal work schedule.

The AM Exchange meeting will be taking place on Friday, Sept. 8 at 7 a.m. at the Acacia Medical Spa, 1951 Mesquite Ave. When members of the chamber RSVP, this will qualify them for an advertising package at the value of $100..

You can register and RSVP by calling 928-855-4115 or by emailing Amanda Mehaffey at amandam@havasuchamber.com.  For members who RSVP, cost is $2.  Members without an RSVP cost is $3 at the door, general admission is $5.

In the following week, the Lake Havasu Chamber Foundation for Education and Leadership will be meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 13 from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Chamber, 314 London Bridge Rd.  This committee’s mission is for the Leadership Lake Havasu program and supporting tomorrow’s leaders of the city as well as learning more about the nature of their business.  Reach out to Kathy Tippett at kathyt@havasuchamber.com for additional information or to become a member.

On Wednesday, Sept. 20, the Chamber invites business owners the opportunity to celebrate grand openings, participate in ribbon cuttings, and new member orientations.  To learn more or to request an application, contact Karrie Singer at karries@havasuchamber.com.

The next day will be the After Hours Mixer Meets Teacher Appreciation event. This event will be taking place on Thursday, Sept. 21 at Michael Alan Furnishing, 1607 Mesquite Ave., from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Chamber has classified members at different parts of the store and will be using coffee tables to demonstrate their subjects. To follow will be a scavenger hunt for teachers only.

The hunt will lead to prizes for educators.  The event will be catered by Havasu Springs Resort.

Michael Alan Furnishings is a local Chamber member and will be ending September with their 24-hour Sleepless in Havasu fundraiser. Since 2008, Michael Alan Furnishings has raised awareness for breast cancer with their silent auction.

The event has raised over $480,000 to support breast cancer prevention along with affordable and local mammogram organizations.  Checks can be made payable to Cancer Association of Havasu.

You can also mail them to Michael Alan Furnishings, 2010 Acoma Blvd W., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403. Sleepless in Havasu is now a yearly ritual. The mayor opens the event as many dedicated volunteers arrive at 6 a.m., stay for the entire 24 hours to raise funds for the occasion.

After the first 24 hours, local survivors of  this illness arrive to announce donation amounts.  Sept. 8 is the deadline for donations as fiscal donations will be accepted until Sept. 30 at 6 a.m.

Sleepless in Havasu will be taking place on Friday, Sept. 29 at 6 a.m. through Saturday, Sept. 30 at 6 a.m. Come show your support at Michael Alan Furnishings, 2010 W Acoma Blvd.
