Soroptimist annual event for middle, high school girls set

Pre-registration deadline is March 14

KINGMAN – Soroptimist International of Kingman will hold its annual Dream It, Be It at White Cliffs Middle School on Saturday, March 28. This one-day event is a day of knowledge and inspiration to help consider aspirations in young women in middle and high school.

The event is from 8:15a.m.to 4:00 p.m. with sign in/registration beginning at 7:45. The deadline for pre-registration is March 14. Registration fee is $5 for those that pre-register and $15 on the day of the event, limited to the first 25 girls. Scholarships are available if requested. The Dream It, Be It program provides girls with access to professional role models, career education and the resources to live their dreams.

This workshop will include seven mentoring sessions for girls 7th grade and up: Discovering Your Dreams, Exploring Careers, Creating Achievable Goals, Rising Above Obstacles, Turning Failures Into Success, Balancing Your Stress, Putting Your Dreams Into Action. During these seven sessions, the girls will hear from other women in the professional world and be given knowledge and insight in their career choices.

Dream It, Be It joins with the long-running Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women to create the “Soroptimist Dream Program,” which provide sustainable, measurable change for women and girls, and ensure they have access to the education and training needed to reach their full potential and live their dreams. The Live Your Dreams Awards assist women by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills and job prospects.
