SONIA (SONNY) JOANNE BULLARD

On Friday August 28, 2020 Sonny passed away at the age of 81.

A longtime resident of Indian River, Mich., Sonny raised her four children with her first husband John Hypio. Her children were her greatest source of pride.

She eventually married Ronald Bullard.

Sonny was very involved in the Eagles Women’s Auxiliary. She held the post of secretary for 10 years and worked tirelessly on many fundraisers and Eagle’s events. She was very passionate about the work that the Women’s Auxiliary did for the community.

Sonny moved to Kingman in 2006 after the passing of her late husband.

She was again very active with the FOE 3744. Sonny was also an honorary member of VFW Post 3516 in Kingman.

The members and friends will remember her for the meals she prepared for them.

Her favorite causes were the United States Veterans and the Kidney Foundation.

She is preceded in death by her mother Emily (Pinkalsky) Rosen; her father Harold Rosen; and her husband Ronald Bullard.

Sonny is survived by her two sisters Carol (Rosen) Couillard of Howell, Mich., and Shirley (Rosen) Hypio of Indian River, Mich.; her four children Joanne (Bill) Garvey of Kingman, John (Nicole) Hypio of Gaylord, Mich., Wendy (Kurt) Schoonover of Pinckney, Mich., and Joe (Mary) Hypio of Carleton, Mich.

She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, September 5 at 11 a.m. at VFW Post 3516, 2826 Wikieup Ave., Kingman.
