Shirley Mae Hart

Shirley Mae Hart, 82, of Kingman, AZ, passed away Tuesday evening June 4, 2024, at her home surrounded by members of her church family and her daughter.

Shirley was born on April 10, 1942, in Burlington, Kansas. She graduated from Burlington High School with the class of 1960 and went to business school directly after high school. She moved to Kingman, Arizona in 1980, where she got a job as a transcriptionist at Kingman Regional Medical Center and worked there for 36 years.

Shirley was a strong believer in the Lord and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward R. Birk and Dorothy Mae Birk; three brothers, Edward Birk, Willis Birk, and Robert Birk; and her ex-husband Reuben Hart Sr.

She leaves behind her children, Reuben D. Hart Jr. (Brit) of Maryland; Erica R. Sweeney (Allen) of Kingman; and Dana A. Hart of Kingman. Seven grandchildren Jericho Sweeney, Country Sweeney, Cheyenne Sweeney, Jordan Lopez, Haakon Hart, Layna Hart, and Signey Hart. Seven great-grandchildren Xavier Sweeney, Violet Sweeney, Dominic Cohan, Bryce Cohen, Sophia Cohan, Stormie Ford and Colten Ford. Two sisters, Jeanette Ward, Hiawatha, KS and Diana Hess, Burlington, KS, and a brother Allen Birk, Bartlesville, OK, and several nieces and nephews. 

Arrangements were handled by Sutton Memorial Funeral Home.
