Sheriff’s brother killed in car crash

KINGMAN –  A horrific traffic accident in downtown Kingman resulted in fatality the morning of New Year’s eve.

The collision involving a semi-tractor trailer rig and a pickup truck claimed the life of the brother of Mohave County Sheriff Doug Schuster.

Deputy Kingman Police Chief said that Michael David Schuster, 57, Golden Valley, was dead at the scene of the 7:40 a.m. accident in the 900 block of East Beale Street.

Freed said the semi-truck was entering the roadway from the TA truck stop, turning right to proceed eastbound on Beale Street.

“The 2006 Toyota pick-up was also traveling eastbound on West Beale Street, in the number two lane, when it collided with the trailer of the semi-truck,” Freed said. “The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured.”

Freed said no charges are filed and that the accident investigation continues.
