Seeking witnesses to an assault with a deadly weapon incident at Lake Mead NRA

LAKE MEAD NRA — US Park Rangers of Lake Mead National Recreation Area and Special Agents with the National Park Service Investigative Services Branch (ISB) are investigating an assault with a deadly weapon incident that occurred on September 2, 2025.

On September 2, 2025, while in the Las Vegas Bay Campground, a park visitor was assaulted by another camper. The visitor called 911 for assistance and the camper fled into the desert. This individual was identified as Guy Miranda. He is described as a 57 year old white male, 5’8”, 175 lbs, with short black hair and brown eyes. Miranda has an extensive criminal history and is considered armed and dangerous.

Information from other visitors is often very helpful to investigators. If you were in the Las Vegas Bay Campground area around September 2, if you see Miranda, or if you have information that could help, please contact us.

You don’t have to tell us who you are, but please tell us what you know.
