KINGMAN – A man whose car reportedly failed to stop at a Kingman intersection sustained serious, life-threatening injuries in the ensuing two vehicle collision. Deputy Kingman police chief Rusty Cooper said officers responded on Monday, February 17, to the crash scene at the intersection of Castle Rock Road and Gordon Drive.
“The investigation determined that a grey in color Chevrolet sedan, driven by a 40-year-old Kingman man, was eastbound on Gordon Drive when it passed two vehicles that were stopped at the intersection with Castle Rock Road,” Cooper said. “The sedan failed to stop, crossed the intersection, and crashed head-on with a semi-truck that was stopped at Gordon Drive.”
Cooper said the sedan driver was not wearing a seat belt and that the force of the collision caused him to strike the windshield. He reportedly suffered serious injuries to his head, face and upper body.
The sedan driver was transported to Sunrise Medical Center in Las Vegas for treatment of his injuries. The driver of the big rig suffered minor injuries, but did not require hospital transport.
Charges are pending ongoing investigation.
