Search warrant leads to drug arrests

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Over the past several months, detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, which is part of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET), have been conducting an investigation into the sale of illegal drugs at a residence in the 2300 block of Alpine Drive in Lake Havasu City.

On July 6, at approximately 9:50 a.m. the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s SWAT team, with the assistance of the Special Investigations Unit, served a search warrant at that residence.  During the search, Detectives located a usable amount of methamphetamine and numerous items of drug paraphernalia. 

As a result of the investigation, 39-year old Lake Havasu City resident Timothy Anderson, was arrested for two counts of the sale of dangerous drugs and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Anderson is being held on a $20,000 cash only bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. 

Alexis Helbert, a 24-year old Lake Havasu City resident, was arrested for three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Helbert is being held on a $5,000 cash only bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. 

Elysia Espinoza, a 28-year old Lake Havasu City resident, was arrested for three counts of the sale of dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Espinoza is being held on a $20,000 cash only bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. 

Joseph McLafferty, a 36-year old Lake Havasu City resident, was arrested for three counts of the sale of dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. McLafferty is being held on a $20,000 cash only bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
