Safety improvement work on SR95 begins this week

BULLHEAD CITY – Motorists on State Route 95, between Bullhead City and Fort Mohave, should expect overnight delays and alternating lane restrictions starting Tuesday, Oct. 13, during construction of a raised median at two locations during the next several months.

7th Street to Aviation Way: Construction in Bullhead City is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Oct. 13, and be complete in December.

Southern end of Bullhead City Parkway to Aztec Road: Work is scheduled to begin Sunday, Oct. 18, and will include the removal of the existing curb, gutter and sidewalk. The raised median is expected to be installed in mid-December. The final lane striping and project completion is expected in early 2021.

  • Work will take place overnight from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Sunday evenings and continuing through Friday mornings. Lane restrictions will be removed during daytime hours.
  • Motorists should be prepared for delays of up to 15 minutes as travel will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the construction zone.
  • Vehicles should proceed with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.

The Arizona Department of Transportation will maintain access to businesses during the project construction.

The concrete raised median is being installed to enhance safety and access along the SR 95 corridor. For more information or to subscribe to receive project updates, go to: https://azdot.gov/SR95BullheadMedians
