Rueda charged with attempted murder

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Lake Havasu City man faces attempted murder and other charges following a late-morning November 1 encounter. Police sergeant Kyle Ridgeway said a verbal argument at one location continued minutes later at a residence in the 1200 block of Lake Havasu Avenue North at about 11:38 a.m.

“During the confrontation, the suspect retrieved a revolver and pointed it at several individuals in the residence, stating he was going to shoot them,” said police sergeant Kyle Ridgway. “The suspect then pointed the revolver at one of the victim’s face and attempted to fire the revolver, however, the firearm malfunctioned and did not discharge.”

Ridgway said the suspect identified as Victor Rueda, 22, obtained a second firearm but was convinced to put down the weapon before he fought with two victims.

Police located and arrested Rueda the next day at 1:52 p.m. He was jailed at the Adult Detention Facility in Kingman and was released after posting $50,000 bond.
