Roy charged with 10 counts of child pornography

KINGMAN – A cyber tip has led to the arrest of a Kingman man for allegedly downloading child pornography material. Deputy Kingman Police Chief Joel Freed said investigation began following provision of information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Jonathan Roy, 32, was arrested during a Dec. 18 traffic stop. He was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility for an initial ten counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

“Investigators from the Kingman Police Department executed a search warrant on Roy’s residence in the 1900 block of Eastern Avenue,” Freed said. “Several electronic devices were seized during the warrant service and additional charges are pending.”

Investigation is ongoing.

The Mohave County Attorney’s Office resolves many similar child pornography cases with plea agreements resulting in five-year prison terms followed by lifetime probation.
