Route 66 UltraRun slated for Nov. 9 -11

MOHAVE COUNTY – Runners will journey through iconic Americana along 140 miles of Historic Route 66 from Seligman to Topock66 Colorado River.

The race recognizes and celebrates the history of the Mother Road, from the Bunion Derbies; “Oakie’s” during the Dust Bowl; the boom years of family road trips after WWII; decline after the interstate system bypassed mom and-pop motels, restaurants, and shops; to grassroots resurgence leading to official recognition that Route 66 had “become a symbol of the American people’s heritage of travel and their legacy of seeking a better life.”

The event will host a maximum of 100 runners, each supported by a dedicated crew. With a race cutoff of 60 hours, runners and crew will be able to enjoy the birthplace of the historic route in Seligman, Grand Canyon Caverns, the Hualapai Tribe in Peach Springs, Giganticus Headicus in Antares, Route 66 museum in Kingman, Cool Springs restored Mobile gas station, burros in the streets of Oatman, and much more!

Unique finishers medals, belt buckles, and awards showcasing amazing custom artwork; a traveling trophy cup; special recognition for two runners; and a rockin’ finishers party are additional “Kicks” to the Route 66 UltraRun. Come out and join us!
