Thank you for reading The Standard newspaper online!

Response to Mr. Bennett and Ms. Brown

Dear Editor,

To the writer Paul Bennett who is concerned for America and Diana Brown who thinks Gosar is doing a bang-up job then suggests I did no homework regarding the subject (in the 19 January 2022 edition of The Standard).

Ms. Brown admits some of her information came from the internet. We now know the internet is the source of much misinformation circulating today. Think about how Trump’s twitter feed has been deleted because of the numerous untruths he has spread without any facts to back up his claims. I wonder if you read the Mueller Report? If you didn’t, I have a copy you can borrow!

True, Trump “threw a monkey-wrench” into things by trying to subvert the majority vote to show he won the election. Remember his call to Georgia’s Secretary of State, Raffensperger, asking him to find 11,780 more votes “because we won Georgia”?

Let’s have a look at some facts. Where was the Republican outrage at the socialistic stimulus checks the Trump administration executed on the 27th of December 2020? Why do so many on the right believe the lie Trump won the election when even his own judicial appointees threw his lawsuits out of court for lack of evidence? All this under the guise of making elections more secure. The Arizona Maricopa County voter recount conducted by right-leaning investigators showed just the opposite. Why get rid of mail-in ballots when Trump reportedly voted by mail?

How about the fact that the twice impeached one-term former President agreed to pay $25,000,000 for his fraudulent failed University in November of 2016?

Where was your indignation when Trump claimed he didn’t think Putin interfered with the election because Putin told him he didn’t, and proclaimed, to the effect, I don’t see why I shouldn’t believe him? How about the Clorox/Lysol and light treatment theory he advanced to Dr. Birx as useful for combating Covid? Or the let’s nuke tornadoes and see if we can break them up?

You must be pleased with how Trump handled the January 6 insurrection and how he is using every ploy imaginable to avoid giving testimony under oath about what he was doing, and who he was communicating with at the time? How about Trump’s C.F.O. Allen Weisselberg under indictment for tax-related crimes?

What appears to be looming over Trump, his lawyers, his children, advisors, and staff are questions which they do not want to answer. Are Republicans proud that he not only lied to the I.R.S. and major lending institutions about the inflated value of his holdings to lenders and deflated values to the I.R.S.?

I think we have found the “venomous viper poised to strike” and I’m afraid if the right is victorious in the upcoming elections, we will have voted to silence those hoping to uncover the truth.

As I write this, we are learning of new information emerging about Trump’s attempt t have th military confiscate every voting apparatus in battleground states and install “electors” of his choosing to subvert the will of the majority by declaring Trump President. No wonder he and his administration fought so hard to keep his texts and other information about his deeds and actions secret and under wraps from public scrutiny.

Shocking! You bet, but apparently true. Do we now have a clear picture of the length and depths to which Trump and his sycophants would go to keep him in power?

Is this the future we want for America? We will have a chance to decide our fate in the upcoming elections!

  1. Innocent people don’t stall, sue, delay, lie etc about questions regarding their actions. Mocking the disabled reporter, keeping conversations with Putin private, etc. should have booted him from the scene. But cult members are gonna cult.
