This is the second commentary I’ve read by Ms. J.M. so I just wanted to give this one man’s opinion. Personally, I wish the Supreme Court had left Roe vs. Wade as it was. The courts and the government need to stay away and let people make their own choices because in the end it is God that judges us for our actions.
The 1864 law is an example of government overreach into women’s lives. However, I do not believe abortion should be used as a form of birth control either as some individuals have. Abortion to save a mother’s life, cases of rape and incest, and the fetus found to be damaged dooming a child to physical disabilities all their life I can understand the reason for a woman to get a abortion.
It confounds me that in all this controversy no one has mentioned adoption! There are so many couples that want to adopt as they sadly cannot have children. Shockingly, former Governor Cuomo [D], New York thought it was fine for a women to bring a baby to full term then if she did not want the child to let the child die at birth instead of adopting the child to loving parents!
That’s murder, no excuse! Let’s take a look back to President Lyndon Johnson’s [D] “Great Society”, war on poverty welfare programs. The program[s] purposely forced Fathers away from the home, discouraging marriage, and gave women money and other benefits as long as she stayed single. More children out of wedlock more money.
From that time until present we can see the damage it’s done to our society encouraging individuals to shirk responsibility for their actions. I have no biological children of my own but I became a stepfather to three children who’s fathers would not stand-up and be a parent.
The government did nothing to make them pay child support but I have no regrets! To single men who have no intention of marriage or children I say step-up and do what is necessary to prevent unwanted pregnancies.
To single women with no intention of marriage and children I say step-up and do the same. Ms. J.M. would you agree adoption is better than infanticide? You seem to imply abortion be used for population control.
Shades of communist China there. You mention you have children and grandchildren and I hope you educate them with some moral guidance and some common sense as you mentioned God in your previous commentary.
Now on to former President Trump [R]. Nor I or he are perfect men. All I know is when Donald Trump [R] was President our borders were secure, our economy thriving, income taxes were lower, we were energy independent, our military was strong, we were respected overseas, young minds were not brainwashed with CRT and DEI, and no more over regulation of our businesses and our lives!
You can bury your head in the sand but the real mess started January 20, 2021 when Joe Biden [D] took office!
