Rebecca Heiss will headline LHC Chamber’s HELP Program

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Nationally-known speaker Rebecca Heiss will provide a virtual keynote presentation to participants of the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce’ Healthy-Empowered-Local-Proponent (HELP) program that begins next week.

“Unpacking the paradoxes of the way humans think is Dr. Rebecca Heiss’ life work,” said Lisa Krueger, the Chamber’s CEO.   “Her research has been designated ‘transformative’ by the National Science Foundation.  She taught at the South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics and later was recruited to be among the founding faculty members to develop a startup school to nurture entrepreneurial minds and approach learning through impact,” Krueger added. Additionally, Heiss is the founder and CEO of Icueity, a continuous 360 review app providing users ongoing fearless feedback and challenging them to grow in self-awareness. Rebecca’s book, Instinct, is expected for release on Tuesday, April 27.

“We are so fortunate to have Rebecca keynote the HELP Program. She will take all the components of what we’re bringing to local businesses in the program, tie it together and motivate us to keep on pushing as we emerge as a community from the COVID-19 pandemic,” Krueger said. “Rebecca comes to us with a great recommendation from the Chamber of Commerce in Longview, Texas. Longview is an amazing chamber and has been awarded national recognition as Chamber of the Year.”

HELP is a program that will assist the physical and mental health of business owners and employees, provide information on for business financial health, and examples and training for a business’s environmental health (worksite). The Chamber received a grant from the Governor’s Office to fund the program that provides the three topic areas with an end goal of instilling consumer confidence that local businesses are taking strides to protect consumers and their organization.

The grant program is designed to continue a jumpstart for businesses in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The program will be held on three different days at different times to accommodate business scheduling. Registration is limited to 50 in person, per session; the program will be offered in a hybrid style and will be streamed live as well. The program is open to any business in the community and chamber membership is not required. The dates and times are:

  • Wednesday, April 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 29 from 4 – 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 5 from 1 – 5 p.m.

Several local experts, including personal trainer and nutritionist Stephanie Lueras of Heart and Sole Fitness, Dawn Bartel of GDK CPA LLC, Dr. Brett Qualls of Agave Physical Therapy, Dr. Elizabeth Marr of Fyzical Therapy and Balance Services, Sherry McGuire of London Bridge Resort Massage, Ginny Sautner of the Lake Havasu Public School District and Llama Yama Yoga, and others will provide their expertise in a variety of program areas.

Participants will receive a branded HELP facemask and an abundance of information. Upon completion of the event, a window cling and certificate of completion will be distributed for businesses to display, indicating they’ve received training to be a healthier worksite and for customers and clients. Ninety days following the completion of the program participants will receive a personal visit from the Chamber to see how what was learned, has been implemented.
