Public safety members see retirement

MOHAVE COUNTY – Bullhead City last week celebrated the career of newly-retired police chief Brian Williamson. Manager Toby Cotter told Bullhead City council members that the police department is in good hands with longtime Capt. Dennis DeSantis now serving as Acting Chief while the city searches for its next top cop.

“He’s going to help me as we transition through this process to name our new permanent Chief,” Cotter said. “In the meantime, his (DeSantis’) retirement date is slated for June the 4th, so we’ve got a little bit of time to work through the process.”

Two Kingman residents ended their public safety careers this week, with final calls from dispatch thanking them for their service, acknowledging their community contributions and wishing them well in retirement. Captain Edward Eads has packed his axe after 30 years with the Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District and Trooper Marty Harnisch has turned in his badge after 21 years with the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
