The Mohave County Libertarian party will have a booth at the Mohave Pride 2019 event. I wanted to invite everyone over to say hello and to perhaps discuss the future of this country.
Insanity has been described as “doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result.” No matter what your political leanings are, there is no better description of insanity. Why then, does our country keep re-electing Democrats and Republicans into office?
George Carlin once blamed our poor quality of elected representatives on the public, that basically it’s “Garbage in, Garbage Out;” and that we should give up on any hope. So why do we keep electing these people?
The truth about the Republicans and Democrats is they care only about one thing. Re-election. They care about re-election so they can continue to control you in one way or another. I am a gay man and I’ve been threatened with violence for not supporting the Democrats, indeed, I’ve also been screamed at and told “I will tell everyone what you really are.” As if the person saying this was going to send a group message to all the gay people letting them know I’m a Libertarian and to “kick me out of the gay community.” – I lost my gay credentials apparently.
The fact is the Libertarian party has been supportive of LGBT people since our first platform was devised in 1972. This is 40 years before the Democrats finally, in what can be fairly described as a “wishy-washy” manner, supported the LGBT community.
That’s right – the Democrats only support the LGBT community as a political means to an end. That end: re-election and your money. This is political expedience in the worst form and nauseatingly insincere.
I invite you to our booth to talk about it; and why you should stop voting for the Democrats.
