LAKE HAVASU CITY – A chaplain, a fisherman and a construction worker are among the half dozen men recently snared in a prostitution-focused undercover sting operation conducted by Lake Havasu City police.
Reports released Nov. 15 reveal that men allegedly seeking sex services were arrested after responding to a motel room where officers were waiting on Nov. 3 and 4.
“Detectives from the special investigations unit and criminal investigations unit placed an advertisement on a website known for soliciting prostitution to see if any subjects would contact undercover detectives in an attempt to exchange money for sexual acts,” police reports said.
Some of the reports include transcripts of telephone and text communications between sex-seeking suspects and undercover detectives as men began responding to the ads. The content included sex acts, prices, meeting up and even some paranoia.
“You’re not a cop, right?, one suspect queried pre-arrest. “You better not be a cop.”
Suspects from California, Lake Havasu, Parker and Kingman arrested after allegedly arriving at a Lake Havasu motel are identified as Benjamin Rodenbeck, 48, Randy Lesar, 66, Alan Azevedo, 59, John Drisner, 54, Christopher Benedetti, 39 and Bobby McBride, 74. Each is charged with soliciting prostitution.
