As our community starts to reopen, I’ve observed how some are throwing caution to the wind. We still need to practice some social distancing and take precautions. I read recently that they have found one new case of the COVID-19 in Needles.
The serious implications of how contagious this epidemic is could restart this whole situation again. Seeing several cars with different types of license plates here is scary. Most of those I saw were from California.
Isn’t this state on lockdown because of the COVID-19? Although I am for re-opening our state, I’m curious as to why these people are allowed to run rampant in our city, not wear masks and run loose with nothing being said to them and we’re not allowed to. This pandemic is no joke, it kills.
Our state has been very hands-on regarding our safety but to relax the rules for out-of-state people puts us at risk again. We do not have the restrictions like California but what’s good for one, is good for others. This wave of out-of-towners is something to be aware of and as its said, “Time will Tell”.
Hopefully, we will not see a repeat of this horrible pandemic because of relaxing our rules. In our stores, the price of some things are outrageous. The once scarce items, toilet paper and hand sanitizer have reappeared. At a cost.
The 99 Cent Store has gone from 99 cents to $3.49 per bottle and it’s not even the good stuff! Although I’m sure “price gouging ” is not supposed to be allowed, it’s almost apparent that the 99 Cent Store is no longer 99 cents.
Toilet paper is also an item that seems to have gone up in price. Several stores, including Smith’s, Safeway, WalMart, and Bashas, have seemed to follow the 99 Cent Store’s lead. Although these stores have been excellent in keeping us safe and our stores well stocked as best they could, the price of these items are crazy.
Well, hopefully, things will settle down and the out-of-town guest will not leave the reminder of their visit with new cases of the COVID-19 pandemic and our lives will return to normal, all indications point to it.
