KINGMAN – On Wednesday, January 15, the Route 66 Yacht Club will be hosting a special presentation on tourism and related economic development at Calico’s Restaurant, 418 East Beale St. The event begins at 5:00 p.m. with a meet and greet followed by the presentation at 6:00 p.m. Attendees will receive a complimentary Mother Road Route 66 Passport. The featured speaker will be Jim Hinckley, author of 19 books. Hinckley is also a tour and tourism development consultant.
In this presentation Hinckley will discuss attendance of the recent Miles of Possibility Conference, meetings with Route 66 Association presidents and tourism directors pertaining to the Route 66 centennial. Additionally, he will present information about Kingman area promotional opportunities including the upcoming International Route 66 Festival in Zlin, Czechia and the 2020 Miles of Possibility Conference.
Attendance is limited and an RSVP is recommended. Tickets are $5. After the presentation Hinckley will be signing copies of his latest book, Murder and Mayhem on The Main Street of America: Tales from Bloody 66.
Hinckley currently serves on the economic development committee for the Route 66 Road Ahead Partnership and the economic development advisory committee for the City of Kingman. He is the developer of the Jim Hinckley’s America travel network and has provided tour development services for Nissan Canada as well as tour companies based in Australia, New Zealand and the Netherlands.
