Plan for daytime ramp closures on I-40 near Kingman Sept. 23, 24

KINGMAN – The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists traveling on Interstate 40 southwest of Kingman to prepare for daytime ramp closures at Griffith Road (Exit 37) and State Route 66 (Exit 44) Sept. 20, 23 and 24. 

The I-40 off- and on-ramps at Griffith Road will be intermittently closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23.

The following detours will be in place during the ramp closures: 

  • Eastbound detour: Exit 44 to I-40 westbound, then exit on Griffith Road.
  • Westbound detour: Exit 28 to I-40 eastbound, then exit at Griffith Road.

The I-40 off-and on-ramps to Route 66 will be intermittently closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23 and Tuesday, Sept. 24.

The following detours will be in place during the ramp closures:

  • Eastbound detour: Exit 48 to I-40 westbound, then exit on SR 66. 
  • Westbound detour: Exit 37 to I-40 eastbound, then exit on SR 66. 

The closures are needed to allow crews to pave the ramps.
