LAUGHLIN, Nev. – A pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Laughlin died following transport to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center in Bullhead City. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) said the April 20 collision occurred in the vicinity of South Casino Drive and Tropicana Drive at about 1:09 p.m.
“Evidence at the collision scene, video surveillance and witness statements indicated a pedestrian was crossing South Casino Drive from west to east, north of a marked crosswalk,” an LVMPD news release said. The 82-year-old male from Roselle, Illinois, whose name is withheld pending notification of kin, was reportedly struck by a 2018 Jeep Cherokee southbound on Casino Drive.
“The pedestrian entered the Jeep’s path, and a collision occurred when the Jeep’s front right struck the pedestrian,” the release said. The LVMPD said the driver pulled over after the collision and showed no sign of impairment.
