After 29 years in downtown Kingman, Pawn World is making moves–literally– and is set to become the largest pawn shop in Arizona. Founded in the heart of downtown Kingman, the shop quickly became more than just a place to pawn or buy goods.
The story of Pawn World started nearly three decades ago when owners Jerry and Rosalba Homer moved to Kingman to start a family and a business together in the heart of downtown.
The shop quickly became more than just a place to pawn or buy goods, it became a neighborhood hub— a place where stories were traded as often as guitars and gold.
Just five years after opening, the business expanded with a second location, a decision that marked the beginning of the store’s steady evolution.
Now, nearly a quarter-century later, the original shop is moving from their 5,000 square foot building on Beale Street into a building that’s over double its size on Stockton Hill Road.
The growth of the shop required the extra space and it gives the owners room for an expanded inventory, a more open layout, and better parking. The new store reflects not just growth, but a commitment to staying rooted in the same city where it all began.

The expansion also gives them the opportunity to showcase one of its greatest strengths, an extensive, ever changing inventory. From gold and silver jewelry, rare collectables, tools and musical instruments, the store offers something for just about everyone.
Pawn World has become one of the largest gun dealers in Mohave County and their new location will give them an even better opportunity to show off and sell their impressive inventory. But it’s not just the size of the inventory that keeps customers coming back, it’s the fairness and transparency from the owners and employees.
Pawn World has built a reputation for offering the best prices in the area for precious metals and firearms. Their straightforward pricing and honest appraisals have made them a go-to for those looking to sell valuables or make a smart investment.
The second location on Northern Avenue will stay where it is and operate the same, giving customers the same level of service they’ve come to expect over the years.
Pawn World started as a family business and has continued that throughout its history in Kingman, with Jerry and Rosalba’s two sons playing a pivotal role in the businesses.

As the shop continued to evolve, the Homers looked for ways to reach even more customers.
A few years ago, they expanded beyond the storefronts and into the digital world with the launch of their eBay store. The eBay store opened their select inventory to a nationwide audience and helped modernize their business without losing the local touch that’s made them a staple in Kingman.
In order to keep up with the expansion Pawn World is looking to hire two more employees in order to expand their hours and keep up with the growth of the business.
Beyond business, the Homers have remained quietly committed to the community—whether helping customers through financial hardship, sponsoring local teams or events, or simply being a friendly face downtown.
As Pawn World enters this new chapter, the Homers aren’t just looking back on what they’ve built, they’re looking forward to what’s ahead. With a growing online presence, a larger showroom, and continued family involvement, the shop is positioned for long-term success. But no matter how much things grow, the mission remains the same: treat people fairly, serve the community, and always offer something worth coming back for.
