Panhandler sexually assaulted at off-ramp

KINGMAN – A Peach Springs resident reportedly sexually groped a female panhandler before causing a disturbance at Kingman Regional Medical Center. Deputy Kingman Police Chief Joel Freed said that Cedric Cardy, 46, was arrested March 5 and jailed for sexual abuse.

Freed said officers responded after 4:00 p.m. to the report that the woman had been forcibly groped at the on-ramp of westbound Interstate 40 along north Stockton Hill Road. A Good Samaritan reportedly intervened at the location before Cardy was apprehended by police at the nearby hospital.
