Peacey found guilty of theft

KINGMAN – On Wednesday, Dec. 11, Jeremiah Grant Peacey, 40, of Kingman was found guilty of theft of $170,000 from a suitcase stolen from a cart at the Kingman Walmart. During trial, Peacey did not dispute taking the suitcase, but rather the amount of money that was in the suitcase. He maintained that there was significantly less than $170,000. The prosecution laid out a case that detailed how the victim calculated the amount of money she possessed in the suitcase through her own meticulous recordkeeping and argued that the defendant made no reasonable attempt to contact the original owner of…

MCSO deputy/K-9 teams keep Mohave County safe

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Program has had a direct impact on the “war” on illegal drugs since September 2017 when the program was reinstituted by Sheriff Doug Schuster. The teams have been called out 160 times, conducted 59 drug sniffs – 57 of those calls ended in arrests and $95,102 cash was seized. MCC student is 2019 Coca-Cola Leader of Promise scholar

Mohave Community College Student Christina Henslee was just selected as a 2019 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar. Henslee is one of just 207 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society members across America named as a Promise Scholar and she will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
