LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Lake Havasu City woman is resolving her criminal drug case through a plea agreement that will send her to the Arizona Department of Corrections. Kathleen Orness, 39, pleaded guilty Aug. 10 to possession of narcotic drugs for sale.

Orness was a passenger in a vehicle from which a digital scale and other drug paraphernalia was seized during a Feb. 11 traffic stop at a gas station in the 2600 block of Sweetwater Avenue. More than 13 grams of fentanyl were retrieved from her person during a search at the police department jail facility.

A contraband charge and a drug paraphernalia count are dismissed in the plea deal. Orness faces a three- to five-year prison term when sentenced Oct. 1 by Judge Ryan Esplin.
