Open letter to voters

Dear Editor,

I understand most people don’t have the time to follow politics with the grind of daily life, but it is very important that you take the time to vote in the July 30 primary election. The reason I bring this up is that in Mohave County the Republicans outnumber the Democrats four to one. This makes this local election about as important as the presidential general election because it will be the deciding factor as to who will be making the decisions that affect your daily lives over the next four years. We have seen the current Board of Supervisors tell us if and how many chickens we may own and not allow roosters at all to fertilize the eggs.

If you don’t care that the number of yard sales you can have per year can get you fined, then please stay home. If you want a Supervisor who will listen and is not a career politician, I would highly recommend that you do your own research. I have had a fair amount of interaction with the following candidates: Shawn Meisner for District 1, Scotty McClure for District 2, Jennifer Esposito for District 4, and Ron Gould for District 5. District 3 is just in trouble if you are looking for real representation. I can only vote for one district but highly recommend that the above candidates get your vote.

Please remember that these are the people that will be making the big decisions that may change your lives at the local level—not if you will need to send aid to a foreign county or your children may die in a desert somewhere defending your right to vote for our Supervisors.

Thank you for your time.
